Welcome to my May 2025 Vedic astrology calendar!
This month will bring some auspicious astrological changes. The recent Pisces stellium should begin to break up after May 7 when Mercury leaves Pisces. This should decrease some of the confusion or emotional turmoil which many have been experiencing. That said, we still have the alternating Kala Sarpa Yoga (into late July) and the Rahu-Saturn conjunction (until May 17), which I discussed in my April 2025 forecast. The effects of these transits can be associated with some extreme energies, imbalance, or unrest.
By the end of May, the only planets left transiting in Pisces will be Saturn and Neptune. See my recent article Saturn’s Transit in Pisces for more information about this lengthy transit which is associated with societal and economic transformation. Fortunately, these less favorable transits will be counterbalanced by the more positive energies of Venus in Pisces and a few other really nice transits of the Sun and Moon later in the month. For more detailed information, please see my recent article titled May 2025 Vedic Astrology Forecast.
If you don't have time to read my article, I have a new feature that you might enjoy! Starting this month, I've added a podcast option for those of you who prefer to listen instead of read. You can hear my son Jared (who studies Vedic astrology and often helps me with my work) reading the May forecast here.
As always, here is my simple Vedic astrology calendar that describes many of the major astrological and seasonal events that will occur this May. Feel free to share it with your friends and family members. Happy May to All!
Astral Reads
I recently received a copy of Jyotisha Upaya: Remedies in Vedic Astrology by Gananathamrtananda Giri as a gift. This is the most comprehensive book available on the topic about traditional astrological remedies (upayas) as used in Jyotisha. I cannot recommend it enough—it’s a real treasure! You can buy it here or from Soma Matha Spiritual Center.
I am also so excited to recommend Your Mind’s Journey, the just-released second book in the Journey Series by my friend Viji Natarajan. This book invites you to explore the timeless wisdom of the nakṣatras through reflection, meditation, and cosmic insight. Alongside the book, “Nakṣatra Reflection Cards” and art prints are now available to deepen your connection to the lunar path.
The American College of Vedic Astrology (where I am a faculty member) will be hosting a webinar on May 10th. During this special event, noted Vedic astrologer Paul Manley will discuss the upcoming double transit of Jupiter and Saturn. This is sure to be a wonderful talk, and I'd encourage anyone interested to sign up!
