I have a question: What is your opinion of the "progressive" Topocentric system being touted by younger astrologers?

Hello Cheryl. I would say this is Shiva's Curse on Astrologers in full play here with this topic. My advice is to research charts and try out your different techniques and then pick a system that works. If you use Drik Siddhanta (the planetary positions observed by modern planetariums) then you can choose to use geocentric (calculations with respect to the center of the earth) or topocentric (calculations with respect to the actual surface location of the birth). If you use SSS (Sri Surya Siddhanta) then it just works with geocentric. You can also apply parallax to the moon which is more topocentric. Positions of the planets don't change much between the systems. I think my own Moon sign changes about 15 longitudinal minutes from one to the other. That could matter if the Moon were sandhi within 15 minutes or so. It can also matter if you are using solar arc progressions, for example. There is also a modern house system called Topocentric (Polich-Page) which is similar to Placidus. I prefer the Whole Sign house system. Please acknowledge that you have received this and let me know if you have anything to share or anything further to ask. Thanks.

Thank you so much--you always go the extra mile!

The Millenials are using the Topocentric system to "debunk" all the news about Pluto transit into Aquarius, so was just wondering . . .

PS it's funny because there are a lot of newbies deeply into the "true sidereal zodiac" of 13 very uneven constellations -- and in that system, Pluto is in Sagittarius now. LOL!

Hi Cheryl...this doesn't make any sense to me as the topocentric vs geocentric calculation does not change the longitudinal or zodiacal position of Pluto at all. It has to do with the zodiac in use. In the tropical system, PL is in AQ. In the sidereal, it is in CAP.
