As born with a birthmandala Sun in Capricorn, that Sun shines equally on all living beings is just my cup of tea, and even hot chocolate ! That the New Year starts when the Sun glows in the Capricorn is just so mesmerizing - the winter being quite opaque here in the center of France. And yet so beautifully promising and mysterious. Some places in India are different for sure...but in one of my favorite spots, Manali in Himachal Pradesh (in the Himalayas), it is 35 degrees Fahrenheit today and snow is in the forecast. Also, many in the Hindu diaspora (70,000,000 people) or those of us who follow the Vedic tradition, will celebrate this important astrological and spiritual holy day and turning point in their own ways wherever they are living including in the southern hemisphere too.
