It’s good day to tune into Venus since Friday is Venus Day, known as Shukravaar in Vedic astrology. Venus colors are white, pink, and pastel rainbow colors. Wearing these colors on Fridays will lift your spirits and enhance the positive qualities of Venus which are abundance, ease, comfort, peace, and loving kindness. Best activities for Fridays revolve around devotional chanting, dance, acquisition or creation and appreciation of beautiful things such as art, flowers, clothing, and accessories; socializing, pleasure seeking, love; enjoyment of sweets; beauty rituals and treatments; and healing.
Venus has been transiting in its exaltation sign of sidereal Pisces (along with Jupiter) since April 27, where it reflects some artistic and spiritual inspiration that some of us have been experiencing. However, since late April, Rahu and Saturn have been hemming in or flanking the sign of Pisces from their respective signs of transit in Aries and Aquarius.
This is known as papa kartari yoga (a malefic scissors aspect) which indicates a sense of negativity and pressure that can diminish the pleasant vibes we should be enjoying when Venus and Jupiter are transiting in Pisces. This mostly will manifest in the house that Pisces occupies in a natal or mundane chart. It could be compared to living in a beautiful home but surrounded on both sides by problematic neighbors.
Venus will move out of Pisces and into Aries on Monday, May 23 and will remain here until June 17. From May 22 through May 24, Venus will transit through the most sensitive one-degree edge (sandhi) between Pisces and Aries known as the gandanta, the vulnerable and transformational cusp between water and fire signs. For some, this can be experienced as a difficult transition, since Venus represents relationships, peacekeeping, vitality, and finances, and any of these areas can manifest with a stressful energy or heavy vibration when Venus transits here.
Venus in Aries seeks pleasure, romance, and change. In Aries, sign of the “self,” Venus is in its detriment (opposite its own sign of Libra). It can be passionate in its emotional expression, but also self-seeking, egoistic, and impatient in love. At the same time, Venus transiting in Aries can be a good time for strengthening bodily vigor.
During its transit in Aries, Venus will conjoin Uranus and Rahu in the second and third weeks of June; so during that time especially, we should expect the unexpected. For some, depending on how it affects one’s natal chart, this transit may bring interesting new contacts, or some surprising experiences and new ideas, or a financial windfall; or in its less positive manifestation, it can also represent heightened emotionalism; financial worries; unforeseen and shocking events; and disillusionment in matters of love and relationship.
In mundane affairs, Venus represents currencies, and the peace and prosperity of the people. The influence of Uranus (rebellion, riots, disasters) and Rahu (violence, revolt) on Venus (planet of peace and prosperity) in Aries (violence, war, and civil emergencies) points to escalating international civil strife. This global crisis is a direct result of supply and workforce disruptions that were created by the lockdowns of the past few years and now the war in Ukraine, which have all led to rising food and fuel prices and shortages.
Mars will follow Venus to exactly conjoin Rahu and Uranus, also in Aries, in late July and early August, and this conjunction will be triggered by transiting Saturn’s square aspect into late October 2022. This reflects even more of the same global unrest that is just starting to grow out of control in many areas now. This conjunction last occurred in May 1855 at the time of the Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War. The war then too also contributed to the interruption of the grain trade and a food price crisis that occurred on an international scale. It led to the Panic of 1857 followed by a three-year depression caused by the declining international economy and over-expansion of the domestic economy. History does indeed rhyme.
As I often have discussed in my writings, Sri Paramahansa Yogananda and his guru Swami Sri Yukteswar taught us the importance of defeating the planets and outwitting the stars. This means that to create a harmonious state of existence amid the endless vicissitudes of life, we must more fully align with the divine power within. This divinity is our birthright, and it is not subject to astral pressures and karmic influences. It is helpful to be aware of the astral weather patterns, but then we also need to be more mindful in our sadhana (spiritual practices), to create a state of balance and peace in our lives, no matter what.
One spiritual practice that I highly recommend is based on teachings of U.S. (Uell Stanley) Andersen, author of the book Three Magic Words (pub. 1954). He suggested repeating the meditation below after a daily 10-minute period of stillness. This is also part of a meditation recording you can listen to on YouTube or on Kelly Howell’s Brain Sync website. It is called "The Secret Universal Mind Meditation,” and there are two versions: the first and the second.
The benefit of listening to these Kelly Howell meditations is that they deeply re-program the mind using Hemi-Sync brainwave entrainment and messaging enhanced with theta and delta binaural beats. Listening to this daily over an extended period can indeed improve your life on all levels.
I know that I am pure spirit, that I always have been, and that I always will be. There is inside me a place of confidence and quietness and security where all things are known and understood. This is the Universal Mind, God, of which I am a part and which responds to me as I ask of it.
This universal mind knows the answer to all of my problems, and even now the answers are speeding their way to me. I needn’t struggle for them; I needn’t worry or strive for them. When the time comes, the answers will be there. I give my problems to the great mind of God; I let go of them, confident that the correct answers will return to me when they are needed.
Through the great law of attraction, everything in life that I need for my work and fulfillment will come to me. It is not necessary that I strain about this, only believe. For in the strength of my belief, my faith will make it so. I see the hand of divine intelligence all about me, in the flower, the tree, the brook, the meadow.
I know that the intelligence that created all these things is in me and around me and that I can call upon it for my slightest need. I know that my body is a manifestation of pure spirit and that spirit is perfect; therefore my body is perfect also. I enjoy life, for each day brings a constant demonstration of the power and wonder of the universe and myself.
I am confident. I am serene. I am sure. No matter what obstacle or undesirable circumstance crosses my path, I refuse to accept it, for it is nothing but illusion. There can be no obstacle or undesirable circumstance to the mind of God, which is in me, and around me, and serves me now.
