The United States Pluto Return

2022 to 2025

Please note that this and all my other forecasts are based on the sidereal zodiac used in both Vedic and Western sidereal astrology, not the tropical system used by most Western and some Vedic astrologers. All the astrological charts below are calculated according to the sidereal zodiac and Lahiri Ayanamsa.

The furthermost outer planet of our solar system is Pluto. Pluto was also the ancient Roman name for Hades, the Greek god of death and the underworld. Astrologically, Pluto relates to death and renewal, regeneration, and transformation. It is a higher octave of Mars, and thus in its more evolved expression, can represent divine will and the creative re-birthing process.

Pluto is a main significator of new beginnings. It also signifies power, as in personal power, sexual power, power struggles, and so on. Pluto represents the collective unconscious, space travel, energy, and weapons (especially nuclear energy and nuclear weapons). Pluto also symbolizes wealth, just as Hades translates as “hidden riches.”

In its lower expression, Pluto can manifest through darkness and evil, as can Ketu and Mars. Pluto can signify psychopaths, tyrants, dictators, and autocrats; socialism and revolutions; animal slaughter (and slaughterhouses), and other such atrocities; suicide; paranoia, obsession, and control; toxic sexuality; conflicts and wars; subterfuge; secret governments controlled by the wealthy (Plutocracy); political propaganda; espionage; lies and hidden information; organized labor; organized crime; mob psychology; violence; death; seismic events; and, cancer and infectious diseases.

Pluto takes about 248 years to traverse the whole zodiac. Soon, Pluto will return to the exact zodiacal position that it occupied at the signing of the Declaration of Independence during the American Revolutionary War. One of the birth charts for the American Republic which is based on this event is known as the United States Kelleher birth chart. Vedic astrologer James Kelleher rectified this chart for July 4, 1776 at 6:30 PM in Philadelphia.

As Pluto transits back to the sign and house it occupies in the United States chart, this is called the “Pluto Return." Symbolically, this means that Pluto and all that it represents are beginning a new developmental cycle. The Pluto Return is bringing opportunities for tremendous change, and probably a different direction in the course of the nation, which will also impact the global community.

The upcoming Pluto Return will be the first one ever for the United States. The Pluto Return is within an effective orb of influence from 2022 to 2025, which will grow closer and stronger in early 2023, and then again will become the strongest throughout all of 2024, when it makes three separate exact conjunctions to its natal position, as shown in this quadri-wheel transit chart below.

Because of this transit and the way in which it aspects the United States birth chart, there is potential for a significant economic downturn in 2023 and 2024, signs of which we are already seeing in 2022. I believe that the next two years of the United States Pluto Return cycle are a time when we should all tighten our belts as we may be facing an unthinkable sovereign debt crisis.

Pluto occupies sidereal Capricorn in the second house of the United States Kelleher birth chart, indicating that the founding principles of the American Republic were forged in response to a significant conflict (Pluto) with Britain over material resources and outworn value systems (Capricorn and second house matters). The evolutionary thrust of the new nation revolved around freedom and liberty, self-reliance, limited government, and individual responsibility.

More precisely, the American Revolutionary War was fought, at least in part, to establish financial sovereignty, as colonial Americans were tired of paying financial tribute to the British monarch without receiving democratic representation in return.

We are seeing a similar dynamic at play today as many Americans are tired of being part of a broken socio-economic system dominated by the war lobby, lies and hidden agendas, oligarchs, corrupt politicians, globalists, and corporations with special interests. This is the “Plutocracy,” which is the shadow expression of Pluto’s position in the second house in Capricorn.

It seems likely that the Pluto Return period will be about intensifying geopolitical and geoeconomic realignments, such as we already see happening with the BRICS+ response to the current proxy war in Ukraine. We may continue to see other ongoing global threats and acts of war; and battles over energy supply chains; as well as the intensifying culture war and the declining state of mental and physical health in America; the dangerous immigration invasion through the southern border; a social, political, and economic revolution; commodity and currency wars; the deepening debasement of fiat money; the possible end of United States dollar hegemony (already threatened by the recent BRICS+ alignment); and the strong likelihood of a government-imposed CBDC (central bank digital currency) tied to global debt and the surveillance state, to which Bitcoin (not crypto) will most surely provide a viable alternative.

Additionally, the Pluto Return is already igniting new battles over states' rights within the United States. These battles are about the age-old debate over which powers rightly belong to the states and which to the federal government. Some fear these conflicts will lead to state secession movements or even a civil war. Since the United States has never been through a Pluto Return, one can only speculate as to what it might entail. However, I do plan to do some more research and will keep you posted as to my findings.
