Planetary gem elixirs are an easy, safe, and affordable way to harness the transformational energy of precious gemstones. Gem elixirs are drinkable solutions that have been infused with the essence of gems like emeralds, blue sapphires, or rubies. The essence of these precious stones is usually delivered by taking drops of a gem elixir by mouth several times a day over a period of time.

Understanding Astrological Remedies

Gem elixirs are a type of astrological remedy as the energy within a gem elixir can relieve negative karmas and improve imbalances reflected in an astrological birth chart. Remedies play a significant role in Vedic astrology. Occult astrological remedies, also known as upayas, are rituals or behaviors that can pacify karmas and achieve transformative results. 

A birth chart illustrates the positive and more challenging experiences that a person may encounter during this lifetime. Since every person will experience adversity at some point, even the most blessed and favorable chart will contain afflicted planets, inauspicious yogas (combinations of planets), or other challenging indications (doshas).

Fortunately, Vedic astrology does not require a person to accept these negative conditions as inevitable. Instead, we can use remedies to strengthen weakened planets, lessen the influence of challenging planetary cycles, and balance other aspects seen in the natal horoscope. In addition, remedies can increase the impact of benefic planets and enhance the power of favorable planetary periods.

Gem elixirs and other astrological remedies work by channeling an individual’s creative and mental energy to connect with the infinite universal intelligence that empowers the world. When we focus on this power in a constructive way, we can balance our karma and attain blessings. 

Different Types of Remedies 

Vedic astrologers have traditionally recommended remedies such as wearing gemstones; chanting mantras; performing specific charitable acts and other kinds of rituals at auspicious times; or making offerings to the deities, planets, or ancestors.

Remedies that focus on charitable acts and rituals may involve delivering food to the poor; feeding birds, animals, and insects; or wearing certain colors on specific days. A person can also appease a planet by chanting daily mantras.

Many of these remedies are still used today (and I recommend some of these rituals in my practice). That said, some traditional remedies are not practical for specific clients or applicable to certain situations. As a result, I increasingly use gem elixirs as a simple and accessible alternative for some of my clients.  

Harnessing the Energy of Gemstones

Gem elixirs balance karmas and direct cosmic energy by harnessing the power of precious stones. Gemstones are one of the most widely used Vedic remedies. Ancient civilizations discovered how gemstones and metals vibrate with a unique harmonic resonance. This resonance can stabilize, balance, and purify a person’s chakra system. Engaging in this spiritual process can minimize negative vibrations and enhance positive ones. Gemstones’ unique ability to provide this balance can allow us to achieve more success, happiness, and emotional well-being. 

Through the law of correspondence, in which patterns repeat throughout the universe, certain gemstones resonate with the unique energy of specific planets. For example, pearls relate to the Moon, whereas diamonds and white sapphires are associated with Venus. These unique connections allow Vedic astrologers to use these gemstones to relieve or strengthen planetary configurations in an astrological birth chart. 

The Unique Benefits of Gem Elixirs

To use the potent energy of gemstones, astrologers may advise a client to wear specific stones on a ring, necklace, or other type of jewelry. Using gems in this way has multiple benefits, and I frequently recommend this remedy in my practice. Gemstones that are sizable and high-quality can provide especially dramatic results. 

That said, gem elixirs are an affordable and easy alternative that can be used in situations in which jewelry would not be recommended. Although wearing gemstones can achieve dramatic benefits, jewelry can be used incorrectly. Wearing a flawed gem or an incorrectly prescribed stone can cause a person to experience emotional or other life challenges. Similarly, wearing a gemstone may not be an appropriate way to relieve the energy of a strongly malefic planet in a person’s chart. In this situation, the vibrations of the gemstones may unfortunately enhance the challenging qualities of an afflicted planet. 

In contrast, gem elixirs provide a subtle energy that can directly resonate with an individual’s physical body and personal vibration. This focused connection can gently appease malefic planets and alter consciousness. Those who use planetary gem elixirs have reported feelings of increased happiness, optimism, grounding, and self-confidence. Others have stated that gem elixirs can increase tranquility, intuition, contentment, and compassion. 

Elixirs are a very practical and accessible way to unlock the potential within precious gemstones. Some do not wish to purchase an expensive gem or wear jewelry. In these situations, elixirs provide a practical solution. Elixirs can also be used to address a short-term imbalance or challenge. For instance, the powerful energies of gems can relieve the negative effects of a short planetary cycle. In this situation, taking a gem elixir is an effective way to receive the healing energy without investing in an expensive gem that would only be worn for a brief period of time.

Using Gem Elixirs

In general, I advise clients to use elixirs for a defined period. During an astrological reading or healing session, I will analyze your unique situation to determine if a gem elixir prescription would be helpful. Depending on your circumstances, I may advise taking one elixir or using a few different elixirs.

For instance, I may counsel you to use an elixir to augment the power of a specific planet. If the remedy is being used in this way, you may take an elixir that is infused with a gemstone that is associated with that planet. To increase the benefits of the elixir, you may decide to begin using this remedy on the weekday that is associated with the chosen planet. For example, you may want to consume a Yellow Sapphire elixir just on Thursdays to propitiate Jupiter. Or you may wish to begin a lengthier practice of daily use on the planet’s day of the week.

I usually recommend taking five to ten drops of the elixir multiple times a day. The elixir can be diluted in water or applied under the tongue. I will usually advise you to take the elixir for at least 42 days. When you begin using this remedy, you should use prayer, visualization, or other affirmation to focus your intentions and goals. You should remember this intention as you continue to take your elixir. 

The Planetary Gem Elixirs use vegetable glycerin and organic alcohol as a preservative. If you have a sensitivity to alcohol, I recommend putting the drops of your elixir into a glass that contains a couple of ounces of warm or hot water. You should let the glass sit for several minutes before you drink the elixir. Allowing the gem elixir to sit will evaporate and dilute the alcohol in the solution. 

When you begin taking gem elixirs, you may experience emotional or physical changes as the potent energy of the elixirs begins its transformational process. You may feel strong emotions, have memorable dreams, or receive new insights. If you have these reactions, you should give yourself ample time to rest, reflect on these changes, and drink adequate fluids. You may also decide to decrease your consumption of your elixir or pause this remedy for a while.
