Who's ready for some good fortune in 2024? In this article, I am going to share a sign-by-sign guide to enhancing your luck throughout the new year. These methods are based on the special connection between Ketu, the Moon’s South Node, and the seven main chakras that are located in our spiritual and physical bodies.
Ketu will be in Virgo until mid-May 2025. As Ketu moves through this sign, it will activate one of your chakras. The chakra that Ketu impacts will depend on your Rising Sign.
In this article, I will provide a sign-by-sign guide that explains how to enhance your good fortune by unblocking the chakra that Ketu has activated for you. The methods that I describe in the article can help you achieve good fortune and luck as Ketu travels through Virgo during 2024 and also the first half of 2025.
What Is Ketu?
Ketu, the Moon’s South Node, is one of the nine heavenly bodies and deities of Vedic Astrology. Ketu is an astronomical point associated with eclipses. It marks the southern point where the Moon's orbital path crosses the ecliptic, the Sun's apparent yearly path on the celestial sphere. Though Ketu does not have a physical body, it is given equal status to the planets.
Ketu is quite mysterious and unpredictable. It can be both auspicious and inauspicious. Those who only associate Ketu with troubles, ill omens, disease, and defeat may be surprised to hear that Ketu also can signify good fortune, as written in Vedic astrology shastra. For instance, Sage Kalidasa mentioned in Uttara Kalamrita, Ch. 5, that the significations of Ketu include “all kinds of prosperity, property, fortune, and luxury.”
Ketu is known as the lord of life (Prananath) and the leader of all the grahas (Grahanayaka). Ketu is also referred to as “Vichitraphaladayine,” which means “the one who gives amazing and unexpected results” (vichitra phala). Ketu is the graha that represents our past lives and what we carry in our karmic bank balance from those past lives. This often includes our brilliant soul gifts and remarkable luck and prosperity that we have earned as past-life merit (known as purvapunya).
What Are Chakras?
According to Vedantic philosophy, chakras are centers of consciousness and power located within our etheric and physical bodies. In this article, I am going to focus on the seven main chakras. These seven centers act as energy transducers which directly affect our physical and emotional well-being. The term “chakra” is derived from the Sanskrit “cakra,” which means “wheel." This term describes these spinning disks of light.
According to yogic tradition and Polarity Therapy, which is a profound holistic health modality that I have studied and practiced for many years, chakras can become misaligned, congested, stagnant, obstructed, or otherwise barely functioning. This in turn can lead to major imbalances in mind, body, and spirit.
How Is Ketu Associated with the Chakras?
Ketu is connected to the kundalini (life force) energy which moves through the seven main chakras. As a result, an astrological analysis of Ketu can reveal impairments in the various chakras. An individual needs to address these impairments in order to open the flow of positive life energy.
Ketu is transiting in Virgo now. It will move through this sign until mid-May 2025. When Ketu moves through a specific zodiac sign, it will activate one of your chakras. The impacted chakra will depend on your Rising Sign. In particular, Ketu will activate the chakra that is associated with the natural ruler of the astrological house corresponding to Virgo for each Rising Sign.
For each of the Rising Signs, Virgo will be located in a specific astrological house. Each of the twelve houses is correlated with a sign in the natural zodiac which extends from Aries to Pisces in order from 1 to 12. Each sign is ruled by a specific planet, which in turn will rule a specific chakra. In other words, there are direct correlations between the signs, planets, and the chakras, as shown in this image below from The Art and Science of Raja Yoga, by Swami Kriyananda, page 396.
Determining the temporal position of your current governing chakra is a complicated process. However, since I will list the chakra for each Rising Sign, you don't have to understand this process in order to benefit from this article!
However, if you are curious, you would begin by determining which house is associated with Virgo for each sign. For example, if your Rising Sign is Virgo, then this sign is obviously located in your First House, and Ketu would be transiting through your First House.
The First House is typically associated with the sign of Aries. This is because Aries is traditionally seen as the first zodiac sign. Aries is ruled by Mars. Mars in turn rules the solar plexus chakra. As a result, when Ketu passes through Virgo, for a Virgo Rising, it may reveal any imbalances within the solar plexus chakra.
Chakra Remedies
Below, I will describe the chakra that Ketu will activate for each Rising Sign. I will also offer simple remedies that can allow you to unblock that chakra and improve your flow of good fortune during the transit of Ketu through Virgo. I will list colors, gems, affirmations, spiritual guides, and other important details associated with this specific chakra. You can enhance your good fortune by wearing these colors and interacting with these gems. You can also work with the specific affirmations or tune into your spiritual guide.
This article is not intended to replace an individualized astrological consultation or healing session. Ultimately, if you are interested in learning more and going deeper into this, it would be best to schedule either an Astral Tune-up or Sacred Breath Session with me.
In a breath session, I will re-align, re-balance, and re-charge your sublime energetic system (the elements, chakras, aura, etc). In a series of sessions, I can teach you how to do this yourself. In an Astral Tune-up, I will suggest more specific remedies for you, including wellness tips, mantras, meditations, herbal remedies, flower essences, essential oils, gemstone therapies, energy balancing techniques from a variety of modalities including yoga, and so on.
