Some have asked me if astrology is predicting a housing bubble collapse ahead. It does seem possible in the coming year+ based on the “signs of the times” as well as one particular upcoming planetary transit.
That is, when the Moon's North Node, known as Rahu in Vedic astrology, transits in a fixed sign in the sidereal zodiac, real estate prices usually reach their peak. (The fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.) And, when Rahu leaves a fixed sign to move back into a cardinal sign, the prices often correct in a downward trend. (The cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.)
Rahu and his counterpart Ketu, the Moon’s South Node, transit in their respective signs for 18.5 months, and they move in a retrograde fashion (anti-zodiacally), so for instance, Rahu has been transiting in Taurus (a fixed sign) since the fall of 2020, and will leave Taurus and transit into Aries in mid-April 2022, using the mean node calculation.
As most are aware, a housing market frenzy has been in place during this period of Rahu's transit in Taurus, with soaring prices, and an almost 20% price appreciation in 2021 alone. Some real estate industry pundits predict that this number will begin to decline in 2022-23, which would discourage speculators from hijacking the housing market, and allow more first-time home buyers to enter into it.
I did look at a few previous significant housing market crashes and have found an interesting pattern that will repeat again with Rahu’s transit in Aries from April 12, 2022 until October 30, 2023. In the Panic of 1837, the housing bubble collapse of 1929, and the housing crash of 2008, Rahu had recently transited out of fixed signs, where the prices had reached a peak, and had moved back into cardinal signs:
Rahu in Aries April 12, 1836 to October 30, 1837
Rahu in Aries April 12, 1929 to October 30, 1930
Rahu in Capricorn April 30, 2008 to November 17, 2009
So, as Rahu soon again will move out of Taurus and back into Aries, we certainly may have a recurring theme. Time will tell!
