The red planet is about to go through another major change! Mars will move into Cancer on October 20. It will remain in this sign until January 20, 2025, and then it will return again to Cancer from April to June 2025. Therefore, this Mars transit will be one of the most significant planetary events of 2024 and 2025.
As a special reward and thank you to my paying subscribers, I am providing an in-depth analysis of this important transit for each sign.
Before I get into the personalized analysis, I will quickly explain the general features of this transit.
Mars Moves Through Cancer
The extended Mars in Cancer transit will last from October 20, 2024 until January 20, 2025. Mars will leave Cancer and enter Gemini on January 20, and will then leave Gemini a second time and return to Cancer on April 2. It will remain in Cancer until June 6, 2025.
Mars normally spends about 45 days in each sign transit. However, every 26 months, Mars retrogrades and spends a much longer time than usual in one or two signs, as it will during its repeating lengthy transits in Gemini and Cancer.
When a planet transits for a lengthy period in one concentrated area of the zodiac, it brings a significant focus and influence into the astrological signs and houses that it occupies. This suggests that any concerns we experience related to the initial Mars in Cancer transit may continue to be a focal point until Mars finally leaves this sign in early June 2025.
Mars was last in an extended transit of Cancer from October 4, 2009 until May 26, 2010. You might look back and see what was going on in your life then. This may help you discover any broad themes, issues, or repeating patterns that could emerge again this time.
